Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

Almanac is your home's memory, built local-first: your data lives on your device by default, and it's yours. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who (if anyone) ever receives it.

1. Who we are & how to reach us

Almanac is a home-inventory and maintenance app, published by Littoral AI. Questions about privacy or your data? Email privacy@littoralai.com. Effective date: July 3, 2026.

2. Local-first by default

Everything you capture lives on your device and works offline. Cloud features (backup, multi-device sync) are optional and opt-in. You can export your data at any time; if you stop using Almanac, you keep it.

3. What we collect, and why

  • Account email & name: from your sign-in (Google, or Sign in with Apple), used to create and secure your account.
  • Photos & videos, and your other content: the assets, warranty and purchase records, routines, notes, and documents you add, used to provide the app's functionality and, if you turn it on, optional cloud sync.
  • Precise location: only if you grant location permission: coordinates embedded in a photo's EXIF data, to support timestamped, location-tagged evidence packs. If you don't grant permission, we don't collect it.
  • A user ID: an account identifier used to scope your data to you (row-level security) so no one else can read it.

All of the above is used for app functionality only: never for advertising, never for tracking, never for profiling.

4. Who receives your data

Two service providers, acting on our behalf, and no one else:

  • Supabase: our cloud storage & sync processor, where your data is stored when you use optional cloud features.
  • Apple: weather requests go from your device to Apple (WeatherKit); Apple processes payments (StoreKit); and future privacy-preserving AI may run on Apple's Private Cloud Compute.

No advertisers, no data brokers, no third-party analytics, no tracking. We do not sell your data.

5. AI processing

Almanac's everyday intelligence (reading a receipt, drafting a routine, summarizing your home's day) runs on your device using Apple's models, with Apple's Private Cloud Compute for heavier tasks. On the Free and Plus tiers, no personal data is sent to any third-party AI.

The optional Connect feature is different: it routes the home data you request to the AI provider you choose (for example Claude or ChatGPT), under that provider's privacy policy and terms, and only after your explicit, up-front consent. You can disconnect and stop sending at any time. We can't control what that provider does with data it receives.

6. Payments

Any purchases are handled by Apple. We never receive your card or financial details.

7. Keeping and deleting your data

Delete items in the app at any time; deletions propagate to the cloud (soft-deleted, then removed) and stay scoped to you. You can request deletion of your whole account by emailing us.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). In the cloud, row-level security scopes every record to its owner, so your data is accessible only to you.

9. Children

Almanac is not directed to children. We do not sell data and do not run behavioral advertising.

10. Your choices

Location and cloud sync are optional. Almanac works without either. You can export your data as an Evidence Pack whenever you want.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
